Evy's Blessing Day

Evy was blessed by her Daddy on September 13... it was a beautiful day and a beautiful blessing for my beautiful little lady.  She behaved, and her dress actually buttoned...something I was very concerned about with our little chunker.

Our first picture as a family of 5!

Leon was able to come up for the blessing, which was great.  We thought it would be a super small circle, since we are so far from family out here in Maine, but we asked a few of our friends in the ward, and ended up having 10 people!

Important Lessons

We have learned some important lessons while living here in Maine...

After unsuccessfully planting corn in our garden 3 times, Ryley learned that he could beat the rodents stealing his kernals by planting the corn in pots on our deck.

We have an ear!

We have learned that Sebago lake is almost empty of people on weekdays after 3.

And that, apparently, Logan can walk on water.  It was always suspected. ;)

We have learned that at the bottom of sebago lake there are lots of freshwater mussels.

And, surprisingly, giant snails.

We have learned that while U-Pick berry farms are awesome, one must always check the price per pound first....

If one fails to do so, one might end up paying $50 dollars for raspberries, thus ruining the month's food budget.

At least we had fun.  When Evy wasn't screaming.  And, to be fair, I'm pretty sure we ate at least as much as we brought to be weighed. :)

We picked up a few apples too.
Hooray for apple season!  Make way for apple pies, apple cider, apple muffins, apple oatmeal, applesauce....

I caught a blurry smile!

And then her older sister attacked her head with a foam circle.
I learned to never let Mia near Evy while I am distracted with a camera.  Also, behind Mia, you can see that I learned you can make bookshelves out of rain gutters!  Best $6 ever.  Made up for my raspberry oversight. :)

Evy's One Month!

This little sweetheart is one month old!  She has just started giving us fleeting, sweet smiles that are followed up by the look given above.  We finally have a giant baby! 99.9% for height, and 85% for weight and head size...she's going to pass up her scrawny. little siblings by her first birthday if she keeps this up!

Three of the loves of my life.  The 4th was inside studying for his Sep 3 Board Exam.

End of Summer

August has seen us trying to soak up the last bits of this beautiful Maine summer.  We have been blessed with good weather that has allowed for lots of state park exploration, lake swimming, beach going, firefly spotting, and, of course, ice cream eating.

Evy, decked out in her hiking gear, the Ergo.

Logan dubbed her "Super Evy"

Evy's first bath!  She loves, loves her baths.  No matter how upset she is before the bath, she goes completely still as soon as we place her in the water.

Of course, sister and brother needed to help!

All clean and ready for more pictures! :)

Evy's most common face....searching for food! :)

 Sebago Lake fun!

Maine has a few drive in movie theaters...we surprised the kids by taking them to see Minions.  While I wasn't the biggest fan of the movie, I couldn't help falling in love with the night, snuggled with my handsome man, surrounded by our giggling kids while we snacked on popcorn and m&m's as fireflies flitted around us. I love Maine.

Beach trip

Big helper brother.  Logan loves to hold his sister for me.  Unless she is crying.  Then I hear a panicked, "Mom?!", and he quickly unloads her onto me again. :)

This poor sweet lady reacts severely to mosquito bites. She got one on the top of her nose, and her right eye swelled shut.  I snapped this once she was able to open it again.

Evy in her bouncer that she was supposed to love.  She doesn't.  I have to sneak her into it when she's asleep.

2nd bath...getting chubbier!

Our ward had a campout.  Ry got put in charge of holding the piƱata. :)

She's just a little bit intense... ;)

Mia and her best buddy, Ellie.

Chubby cheeks..and everything else.

We have bite-sized watermelons!  They are so cute!
