February

This month has been snowy. And super cold.  Like, 30 below 0 cold.  We are going a little crazy....

Also, Ry has been on Trauma surgery.  Which is like, 100 hours a week.  So, we have been home-bound and lonely.

Ry had an awesome senior (upper year surgery resident) this month on his horrible rotation...The guy found out Ry had kids and sent him home with these... cute bears all dressed up in surgery attire.  There were even little notes that said, "Daddy loves you" and "Daddy misses you."  Guess the guy felt bad about them never seeing Ry. :)

The kids are getting good at entertaining themselves....

See those undies on Mia?  Yeah for no more diapers!

This sweet kid has fallen in love with the magical world of Harry Potter.  He begs me to read it every 3 seconds.  We just finished the first book, and are going to have a Harry Potter movie night.  I love having a kid this age!!

Mia likes to throw on Logan's clothes, get his bow and arrow and say, "I am Merida."

The weather finally warmed up into the 20's, so we ventured outside!  Ry came home the other night insisting that we needed to buy ice skates... so we did.  There are tons of ponds in our area that are open for skating and free!  The kids look so cute in their skating gear, even though they hate it right now. :)

Logan had a hard time keeping his balance, but I know he will pick it up quick.

Cuties.

Mia did surprisingly well.... probably because she is so close to the ground.  She just hated the wind.  Loved her new pink ladybug helmet, though.

Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day gets more fun every year, as the kids' understanding of the holiday grows.  It was freezing, and Ry had to work, but my little love bugs kept me company!

Pink pancakes and strawberries.  Mia was in heaven. :)

We met Ry in the hospital cafeteria for lunch.  He's on his trauma surgery rotation, so we were lucky to catch him in between pages!

The kids were thrilled!

Ry is the best daddy ever and got Mia a special flower.  She was so happy!  Logan got a balloon... which they both ended up wanting eventually :)

I wanted to grill steaks for dinner... this is what I had to clear before I could.  And we were under another blizzard warning that night!  The snow just keeps on coming.

Our traditional fondue dessert.

The kids just love poking everything

Notice the purple upper lip?  She wanted to be Captain Barnacles from the Octonauts and drew a mustache all by herself.  With a permanent marker.  Oh my Mia.

New slippers!

Our trip out west... and back again.

The last week of January Ry had to go through his radioactive iodine treatment, which meant he couldn't be around the kids and me for at least 10 days... so, the kids and I flew out to Nevada to stay with family during Ry's quarantine. :)

Right before our flights... and right after the first blizzard

On the plane.. the kids actually did really well.  I kept getting, "Lady, you are crazy" looks from fellow passengers...especially on the east coast.  No one has kids over here.  Absolutely no one has 2 before they are 30.  Luckily I wasn't showing yet.  :)

In Baltimore during a 5 hour layover.  Yeah.  Five hours.

We all felt about like this...

From Baltimore to Denver!

From Denver to SLC!... we landed at 2am our time.  Everyone asked what I had given my kids to keep them quiet.  I told them we had eaten lunch in Maine....

My parents were sweet and came and picked us up in SLC and drove us back to Ely.  We had lots of fun with family, and were able to be there for Aydan's baptism!  We missed Ry like crazy, though, and spent lots of time skyping :)

Fun with cousins!

Mia with piggy and guard, the stuffed animals I grew up with. :)

On the way back home... what do you do after 2 long flights, and an hour delay on your last flight at 10pm?  Eat chocolate ice cream, of course.

What we came home to.

Yeah, it's like playing chicken every time we have to pull our of our driveway.

By the way...

We will soon be a family of 5!!!

January

January...

I cleaned out the couch.  I found lots of stuff.  Logan looked at the pile, asked if I found all of it in the couch, and said with wide eyes, "This life is filled with wonder!"

We finally got some Maine snow!

Naughty little man wouldn't stop hucking snow balls at me.

This is what it looks like when you are too busy taking pictures of your cute little boy to properly deflect the snowball that hits you in the face.

Mia loves making "baby snowmen"

I should have made her a nest..

A few hours into Blizzard Juno...

Halfway through.. the snow was already up to Logan's waist!

It was fun watching him try to get around. :)
