Vacation!

We just got back from our travel-the-west vacation! First we stopped in at Ely and hung out with my family for a few days. It was a lot of fun to see everyone again, and Aydan informed me that my "belly was getting really tall" and that Logan was going to have "green hair, green eyes, and a beautiful shirt." :) We then stopped into Battle Mountain, the little mining town where I technically grew up, and I showed Ryley the park I used to play at and where I used to live. We were then on our way to Crane, OR, about 30 minutes outside McDermitt, NV, when our car decided to blow up. There we were, stranded on the edge of the road, seriously in the middle on nowhere, and after 5 minutes of despair this very nice man named Oz from Round Mountain, NV (go figure) pulled up with an empty flatbed trailer and all the hookups needed to haul us. So, he pulled us to Burns junction (also in the middle of nowhere) where Ryley's friends in Crane were able to pick us up and haul us to an autoshop. Everyone informed us that it was either a cracked engine block or a blown up head gasket and that we wouldn't be able to leave for a few days. So, we settled in at Crane and helped them unload four cords of wood. Much to our surprise we recieved a call later that day that our car had been fixed and was ready to drive. Somehow it was only a few hoses that had burst, and it was an easy and cheap fix. We were definitley watched out for those few days. We headed up to Sandy, and then to the coast where Ryley had fun flying kites and we all built lots of sand castles. We then hung out in Sandy for a couple more days, went on a hike, and then headed back home. Ryley got stung by a bee on the hand, and it swole to gargantuan proportions. When we got back, our baby bed was waiting for us (Thanks mom and dad!) and we played with that. That's our update, and the pictures are of our adventure and some cool new cookies Kassi, Cammi, and Aydan helped me make. I am currently 33 weeks pregnant, and counting down the days. Logan is a little squirmer, and Ryley is getting more and more excited. According to our last doctor appointment, everything is the right size, and our baby boy is healthy as can be. As for school plans, Ryley is going full time this semester and working as a TA in the Organic Chemistry Lab, and I am deferring Fall and working in the cancer research lab. We also finally bought tickets to a BYU football game! Yeah! This summer has flown by, and has been a blast. Sorry for such a long update, but I guess that this is what happens when I forget to update for almost two months. :)

My Birthday! and a 28 week old Baby/Fetus.... :)

Wednesday was my 21st Birthday! And Ryley was very sweet.. he skipped classes.. I skipped Philosophy, and we made this amazing oreo/whipped cream/ice cream/chocolate pudding cake together. :) We also ordered Dominos and watched "The Kid" because Ryley had never seen it. It was a very good birthday. I also entered my 3rd Trimester on Wednesday... what a good birthday present. :) Now I am just about 28 weeks, and starting to show it. The video is of the cake Aydan made me when we were down for the fourth. And the bowl of grape tomatoes is from our garden! Yeah! Also exciting news.. the most exciting of all... Ryley has his first interview for medical school! July 31st he is flying out to Fort Worth, Texas to interview for a very good school there. I'm so proud of my sweet husband! He also keeps telling me to turn up the temperature or something so he can play with his little boy sooner... :). I'm not so sure that would work......

Updates...

These last few weeks have been crazy! On June 22nd I had my 24 week checkup, and everything is growing like it is supposed to be. :) I'm officially 26 weeks today... yeah! Logan is kicking more than ever now. I hope that I'm not torturing the little guy every time I poke him to get him to move around....it's just so much fun watching Ry's face when he gets kicked. I mentioned to Ryley that we really only have 14 more weekends alone together before baby time... that freaked him out a little bit. :) Anyways, my next appointment is July 22. Last week Jessi came down and stayed in Provo with us. It was a lot of fun getting to know her a little better, and hopefully we convinced her that BYU is the best place to be! During her time here we went canoeing and discovered the amazing practice of Cherry Picking! 12 pounds of cherries for 7.50... what a great deal. We spent the fourth of July in Ely, which was also a lot of fun. :) Like always, there was tons of food and Ryley was one happy man. My family got a puppy named Chip, and it was quite entertaining watching Cammi and Aydan play with/torture him. Now we are home and in the middle of midterms for summer semester. And our landlords don't seem to believe in air conditioning, so our house is about 80 degrees. Oh well. Someday I will have windows and control of the thermostat... and a bathtub. Hope all is well with everyone, and I'm sure Ryley will make me post another picture of my front end soon. :)

24 weeks

It's been a while since I last posted a picture of my growing front end, and Ryley decided that it was about time I posted another one. I am just about 24 weeks, and my next appointment is on Tuesday. To make me feel better about the picture, Ry let me take one of his sympathy stomach. :) I love my goofball of a husband.

Adventures...

June has been a very exciting month so far... applications, presentations, finals, and home improvement projects created a desperate need for a few fun breaks. When Ashlee came down, we went canoeing on Utah lake and up Provo River. After finals finished this week, we decided we wanted to get out of the house and go camping... but ALL of the campsites were filled. Luckily, my crazy adventurous husband found this cute little spot up from the side of the road while he was hiking with his boyscouts. So, we hauled all our stuff up a VERY steep hillside, and set up camp. It was so much fun! We had kabobs, chili dogs, and smores! It only rained on us a little, and wasn't windy at all. For baby news, Logan is now an expert kicker, and you can watch it from the outside! While this slightly freaked Ryley out the first time he saw it, we are slowly becoming accustomed to all the major progress our little man is going through. My next appointment is on Tuesday, and I'll post a 24 week picture here pretty soon. Hope all is well and we love you all!

New Room!

Yeah! We finally painted our nasty bedroom.... and it only took about one day (which made Ryley VERY happy). :) The first picture is of the room the first time we saw it... the rest are of our paint job. I stole grandma's idea and drew the blue lines down the cracks to add more color. Our baby will go on the left hand side of our bed against the wall....

Catching up....

For Memorial Day my family came up and we all went to Mt. Pleasant. It was a lot of fun to see everyone again, and we even got to go swimming! Pictures are below....
