Christmas Trees and Green Beans

Here's a quick picture update of our little man:

For some reason he really thought that if he sucked on the bottom of the beater, more frosting would come out. :)

Silly Cam and Aydan playing Wii during Thanksgiving.  Logan loved to pretend that he was racing too, and whenever the mario cart song would start to play, he would drop whatever he was doing and book it into the living room.

Logie and his Uncle Aydan playing in the bath.

:)

He really loves his tongue

Our little gift

Logan also really enjoyed walking around with Cammi's soccer medal around his neck and this tulle over his head.

As soon as we put this spiderman costume onto Logan, he started making this face while saying "blah."  He had never done that before, but now he does it quite regularly.  Weird little man.

Logan was so funny when we put this Christmas tree into the front seat of our car to bring it home.  He kept pointing to it and looking and Ryley and me like, "Do you two realize that you just put a tree into our car?"

Logan topping the Christmas tree

For about 3 minutes he was completely in awe of the tree.

After those three minutes were up, all he wanted to do was pull down the decorations so he could get to the "balls" on the tree, which is his new favorite word.  Despite our efforts at keeping the decorations out of his reach, he still somehow manages to get down at least 1 candy cane a day.

Logan's new favorite hiding spot.  Sometimes he climbs behind the tree where I can't reach him.  Next year we need to get a pokier tree.

Ryley and I were in the middle of watching "Eat, Pray, Love" when we looked over and saw this.  Apparently we hadn't put his unfinished dinner up high enough....

Carousels, Leaves, and Snowmen in the dark

Here's a few pictures of what we have been up to.  Logan is growing up crazy fast, and has shot up almost 2 inches in the last month.  He's a little jibber jabber, and copies everything we say.  Ryley learned a lesson last night when he said "Dangit!" and Logan followed suit.  Logie either tweets, growls, or woofs at every animal we come across...and usually gets it right!  He was way funny when we rented "How to train your dragon"....he growled at the tv the whole time.  He knows who Jesus is and can say His name very well.  He also says "Namen" at the end of every prayer... and sometimes throughout the whole prayer... :)  He runs everywhere and climbs on everything.  Somehow he almost always ends up with something I don't want him to have.  About an hour ago I found him hiding under our table with my Christmas advent calendar, eating all of the chocolate out of it.  He loves the snow, and can say "snow."  Last night our wonderful neighbor Lauri came over and babysat Logan so Ry and I could go out on a date.  I don't think that we have gone out alone since we moved to Salt Lake City. We went to this cute Irish Pub called "McCools" and had amazing Roast Beef Sandwiches and Strawberry Crepes.  Logan was so good for Lauri... I'm pretty sure that he didn't even realize we were gone.  It snowed like crazy last night, and we couldn't resist taking Logan outside in it.  He built his first ever snowman and was so proud!  Ry's doing great in school still, and I am having to restrain myself from putting up Christmas decorations. :)  And we are all VERY excited for Thanksgiving this week!

If I ever leave the tray off of Logan's highchair, this is what I find.

Logie's first ice cream cone

After he had eaten all the ice cream off the top of the cone, he went after the bottom.

Happy, Chocolate covered little man.

Riding the carousel at the zoo with daddy.

Waiting in the car in the parking garage at the medical school for Ry to finish with IV training.

Logan's best friend. :)

So big!

Logan and the leaves.

:)

He loves trees...

This is one of his new favorite faces to make...at least it was until his father pretended to bite his tongue off...

:)

Now, I may be biased, but I'm pretty positive this little man is the cutest little guy in the universe. Ever.
Helping Dad build a snowman.

He really liked to pat the snow onto the snowman.

:)

Such a big helper!

Our Big One Year Old...

Wow, has October gone by fast!  This month has been packed to the brim, and to tell the truth, I'm kind of relieved that it is done with.  Here is a little of what we have been up to:

Logan loves Historic Wheeler Farms.  His favorite part is, of course, grabbing the animals. :)

Our little man is one!  He has grown up so much!  Here are some of the things that he now loves to do:

  • Logan runs everywhere.  Despite how much he eats, he is now skin and bones due to the fact that he just doesn't stop moving... ever.
  • He loves to climb on everything!
  • Besides his own little language, we also get the occasional "Hi dad" (whenever Ry walks into the room), "No, No, NO!", "mama", "dada", and "nahnah" (night night)
  • He knows what a birdie says - "tweet tweet" and what a lion says - "raaarrr"
  • He also knows sign language for "story", and boy does that boy love to read.  I'm pretty sure we are one week away from finishing every board book in our library.  I'm fine with this, as it is the only time I can get him to sit still. :)
  • Logan also LOVES to dance.  And this little boy has got rhythm!  As soon as a song comes on, Logie will start bouncing, swaying, shaking his head, twirling...
  • He also thinks that he is hilarious.  And actually loves to get into trouble.  He will get our attention, pull  a cord out of the plug-in, and laugh when we tell him no.  He also laughs at spanks, flicks, time out... so naughty.  Other naughty activities that he enjoys... pulling all the leaves off my poor abused plants, flinging all the dirt out of said plants, eating the nasty pile after I sweep, pulling everything off of my shelves (including pantry shelves), biting me, throwing his food across the room...
  • He also likes to shake his head no at us.. sometimes at such an intensity that is knocks him down...
  • Logan thinks that it is hilarious that I put mascara on.  And stands in front of me laughing every morning when I do so.
  • He is a very good "almost sharer."  He will pretend to give everyone around him everything.  He just takes it back last minute.
  • He's very sweet with his stuffed animals and babies.  He gives them lots of loves, and always shares his binky with them.
  • His favorite game of all time is the "get you" game.  He is my gym membership.
  • He is now approximately 21 lbs, 30 inches, and has 8 teeth. :)

For Logan's friend party, we had a Halloween party!  It was so much fun, and Logan was ecstatic to have all of his little play group buddies at his house.  The camera was lost in the midst of the many children, so unfortunately there are no photos to document the chaos, but it really was so much fun!

Logan with the awesome car/track set from Uncle Chad and Aunt Chelsey.  He loves it so much!  Today he drove one of the cars of Ryley's face while making the "vroom" sound.

He was actually pretty good at opening his presents.

He also loves this xylophone from Grandma and Grandpa Poulsen.  He always looks so proud when he manages to make music.

Logan did a very fine job with demolishing his birthday cake.

Ironically, Logan does not like to be sticky or messy...

Logie in his fort. (under the table)

Silly little man.

For his birthday, we got him foam blocks.  He started doing the cutest thing in the whole world last night.  Some blocks have holes in them, and some blocks are round cylinders that fit into the holes.  Logan will spend forever putting the peg into the hole, and then taking it back out.  It is so much fun to watch him learn and grow!  And so very sad to watch him get SO frustrated when it doesn't go in as quickly as he would like it to. :)  Oh yes, sometimes he attempts it with his mouth.

Logan carving pumpkins!  About two hours later we all came down with a stomach bug, so our pumpkins never really got finished.

He really liked to pretend to scrape out the guts

The view from our balcony a couple of nights ago.

For Halloween Ryley and Logan were pirates, and I was their booty. ;)

We went down to the trunk or treat in Provo this year to spend time with our friends, the Thatchers.  Logan really like Zach's costume. :)

Logan and his little friend, Shaely Warburton.
Ignore the very ugly cake.  I spent all the time on the cute little fondant animals, and ran out of frosting for the actual cake at 2am on Sunday.  At least it tasted good. :)

Yogurt, Cheese, and Fingerpaint

Well, school is in full swing for Ry now (we're halfway through phase 1!), and he is doing great!  He's been doing really well on all of his exams, and Logie and I actually get to see him a lot more than we thought we would.  That might not last... but we are enjoying every minute while it does!  Of course, nowadays when we see him, we get to be his patients so he can practice all of his exams!  Lately:  Logie and I go to the zoo.  A lot.  We go to the library a lot too, because Logan loves to read! It's about the only time I can get his little body to sit still.  Grandma and Grandpa Enz came to visit during conference, and Logan was thrilled!  He loves being the center of attention, and happily performed all weekend. :) Yesterday we went to this really neat place called Wheeler Farm, where Logie was able to see and pet horses, goats, chickens, turkeys, bunnies, cows... he absolutely loves animals!  Going to the farm was also a milestone for me, because it is the farthest I have driven in Salt Lake City by myself.  Although I got lost at least 6 times, and had a breakdown where Logie and I cried in some random parking lot, we made it!  Today I was able to drive to Smith's for the first time.  Look out world! :) Anyways, back to the little man...who is such a little man!  He loves dirt and bugs and cars.   Logan has discovered "cheese"  and is a little copycat.  He also loves gogurts and anything resembling a fort.  His favorite thing in the whole world is being chased, and he loves to hide under our table, desk, his crib....Silly man.  Not too long ago I read online about edible finger paint... just add food coloring to vanilla pudding...so we tried it the other day.  Logan was very skeptical.  He couldn't figure out why I was letting him play with bright colored goop and I was letting him eat it. He only took one lick, the silly boy. I've kept busy with crafting projects and MSA activities.  We are actually having a Halloween Party at our house for Logie's 1st birthday party.  I cannot believe that my little boy is almost 1 year old!  Time is flying by!

Logan in our front yard eating pine needles.

Hanging off our fence

Such a big guy

At the park on a rainy day

He likes to sit in his toy box while he plays.

We went down to BYU during Homecoming, and Logan got to
watch his very first parade, with his little buddy Anne.

They gave out balloons at the parade (best idea ever) and Logie and Anne loved them!

Logan loves Spaghetti. :)

I get this lovely look whenever I'm doing something he's not incredibly happy about...

Oh Spaghettios. :)

After finger painting.
