Utah and 7 months

Logan is 7 months old! He is such a big boy! He took his first steps around the middle of May, and is getting more confident on his feet. It's so funny to watch his little body walk around! Actually, Logan doesn't walk. He runs. We love him so much. He also gets funnier every day. His favorite noises to make are high-pitched screams. He especially likes to scream whenever everyone else is quiet...like during prayers and sacrament meeting. :) Logie loves playing with his aunts and uncles. We still can't get him to crawl though! When we put him on his tummy, he screams in protest and rolls over to his back. Naughty boy. I found a really neat website (http://lemontreecreations.blogspot.com/2010/03/family-blocks.html) that showed me how to make "family blocks." One side has a picture of a family member, the other side has their name. This way Logan can learn about his family members who live far away from us... but not as far away as we thought they would be... Ryley was accepted into the University of Utah for medical school! That means we don't have to go all the way to Texas. We recently took a trip up to Utah and found a perfect house, with 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms, and a yard. It's right against the mountain, only a couple blocks from campus, really close to a cute park, and best of all... only a few blocks away from Hogle Zoo! We love it, and are so excited to move in. We also got to see Aaron, Kayla, and Zoa on our trip. Zoa is getting so big, and her and Logan are so cute to watch together! Here are some pictures of our adventures:

Adventures in Ely

So many things have happened, and it's only been a week or two! Our little man is growing up so fast! He now has two teeth, can stand up as long as he's got something to hold onto, and loves to walk around while holding on to our fingers. Ely is currently being very rude about it's weather, and we woke up to almost a foot of snow the other day. But, it is supposed to start warming up again soon. We found a beautiful house in Fort Worth, TX, and are very excited about that! Here are some of the things we have been up to:

Logie on a walk

Me, Ry, Logie, and Jess in Jail at the PTO carnival

Logie's first tooth! You have to zoom in to see it. :) Since this picture was taken, another tooth has erupted right next to it.

Logan's absolute favorite thing to do: walk!

We did it!

A LOT has happened since our last post! We finally finished school! Right after a crazy day of finals we drove to the Salt Lake Airport and flew to Washington D.C. for the American Association for Cancer Research Conference. We had two layovers, but Logan did really well on all three flights. The sights were amazing, and we feel incredibly blessed to have been able to experience them. Ry did great presenting the poster, and our research generated a lot of interest. Yeah! The flights home were a little more trying, as Logan decided that he had had enough! But, we made it home safe and sound, just in time for graduation! Our families came out to watch, but were a little preoccupied with Logan's three, I repeat three, monstrous blowouts during the ceremonies. Love that little guy. Logan had his 6 month birthday on Monday.... can't believe it! He is 16 lbs, 4 oz and about 28 inches long. The doctor didn't believe the scale though... he thinks that Loge is bigger. Logie also peed all over the doctor. Hehe. After graduation we were able to spend some time with Ry's family. Our wonderful neighbors, Zach and Ilene (who we miss like crazy already) threw us a good-bye barbecue. Then we packed and packed and packed. Logan was mostly cooperative. :) Last Tuesday we said our goodbyes and my mom and dad came and helped us move down to Ely for a little bit before we head off to medical school. Right now we are relaxing and enjoying our time with our crazy family. The pictures below are of some of our adventures...

Happy Days

April has flown by! Next week is finals, and next Saturday we fly to Washington D.C. for the conference. So excited! Easter was a lot of fun. Our friends Zack, Ilene and Anne invited us to eat breakfast with them and watch Sunday morning conference. Then we ate lunch with Zach, Ilene, Chris, Emily, and all the kids while we watched the Sunday afternoon conference. Later that night we had dinner with Kayla, Aaron, Zoa, Trevor, and Sara. So much good food! Logan looked so handsome in his Easter outfit from Grandma and Grandpa Poulsen. :) And we were very grateful for all the chocolate that came with the outfit. :) Last Friday was Senior Celebration, and somehow Ryley and I both won stuff in the raffle. I won a basketball, a BYU hat and a BYU shirt. Ryley won a tent, two sleeping bags, and two camping chairs. We have never won anything in our lives before, and don't count on ever winning anything again after that burst of luck. ;) Logan is growing more every single day. He can now balance on his hands and knees and really really wants to crawl. He babbles and screams. He laughs more and more, and loves to be tickled and thrown into the air. Still can't believe that our little guy is almost 6 months old! Well, that's about all the news for now... hope you all have a great week...ours is sure to be crazy with packing for D.C., packing for moving, and our last bout of finals EVER!!! (as undergrads at least....)

So handsome

Such a big guy....

Our little man grew up again today. Every single day something new and exciting happens. Logan's latest and greatest accomplishment----SITTING!! Out of nowhere he just started doing this:

and seems perfectly content to be in this position. He also loves swinging and bouncing on the ball. We put him down the slide today too, but he wasn't quite sure about that. Maybe in a few more months....

He also likes using his daddy as a swing...
Love the eyebrows...

I discovered fondant this week....this is a mario-cupcake-scene-thing I made for Aaron's birthday...need better food coloring next time...

Life with Logan...

Only 40 Days until graduation! Oh, that will be a good day. While I figured that school plus a baby would be difficult, I never would have guessed how hard it would be. Logan, by the way, is sweeter than ever. He loves to squeal and shriek and laugh. Right now he is pulling his dad's hair...which he thinks is one of the funniest things in the whole wide world. He gets more fun everyday, and is finally almost rolling over again! He did it all the time as a newborn, but all the fat stores he has accumulated have made it more difficult. But, he is doing it again, so we are all happy. At his four month checkup last week he weighed in at 15 lbs 2 oz, 26 inches long. He is now wearing 6-9 month clothes, the little monster. The AACR in Washington DC is getting closer too... we are very excited about our big trip, but I am still a little worried about being on a plane for 6 hours with Logie. Guess it will be an adventure! Another exciting event in our life.... Logan tried cereal! The Dr. said that because he can sit up so well, and because he shows such an interest in our food (he tries to grab it out of our mouths) that we should try it. Logan wasn't quite sure of what to do with the food... I'll post a video below. That is about it for us lately...hope all is well with everyone else!
