Wolfesneck State Park

This past weekend we headed up to Freeport to explore Wolfesneck State Park.  So many fun adventures!

Logan found and rescued a cute little crab.

We also found a dead horshoe crab... creepy!

So pretty!

One of the islands in the park is a protected Osprey habitat.  It was so fun to have these huge birds soaring over us the whole time we were there!

We ended our adventure with a stop at Wicked Whoopies.  :)

In other news, our newest little lady is growing and growing!  I can't believe we are so close to the end of this pregnancy already.  I have been measuring a month big this whole pregnancy, and it definitely feels like it!  My OB ordered another ultrasound for me, because of how big I'm measuring  and they estimate the little one to be 2 weeks big, and in the 80th percentile of babies if she makes it to her due date.  Ahhhh!  With Logan and Mia I always measured small... She also, apparently, had tons of hair in the ultrasound.  We can't wait to meet her!

Buddies

I don't know why they have their own rooms....

Preschool Graduation

Logan graduated from preschool!  He was so very excited, and now can't stop talking about starting kindergarten.

We figure he's seen enough of his dad's schedule... doctor tops the list no more.

During his graduation program, Miss Jaime highlighted an attribute of each child in the class.  Logan's was compassion.  She got all choked up and told everyone how Logan would always put his friends first, and made sure they were always happy and comfortable.  She also mentioned how much of a charmer this little guy is, and how he was always quick to give compliments to everyone around him. Ry and I are so proud of this little guy!

Of course Mia needed a picture too. :)

His graduation was very sweet.  Each child had a poster about them, the teacher gave a little speech about what each child brought to the classroom, and then they sang songs and received trophies and diplomas.  Afterwards there was a cute slideshow of pictures of them throughout the year.

Logan and his super cute class.  All of the girl's mothers have informed me that their daughters plan on marrying Logan.  Logan told me that he fell in love with all of them. :)

As a celebration lunch, we went out to Logan's favorite restaurant... Red Robin!

Acadia

As a last hurrah, we finished off Ry's vacation with a trip up north to Acadia National Park.  The pictures speak for themselves.  And now I need a vacation from our vacation. :)

Hiking near Echo lake

The overlook to Echo Lake

Along the carriage roads

At the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point along the Atlantic seaboard.  It has an elevation of 1530 feet... so tiny after hiking mountains at 13,000 feet growing up!  We had big plans of getting up at 4 and watching the sun rise from here... unfortunately, it rained that whole morning.  Luckily it cleared up enough before we left so we could see the view!  We'll just have to make another trip for our sunrise.

Another view

Sand Beach

Near Thunder Rock, which wasn't making much noise, despite the recent storm.

Bass Harbor Lighthouse

Mia's preferred way of travel

Smelling beautiful flowers

I asked Ry to make the kids laugh... he told them a joke.  They laughed. :)

Climbing a mountain wasn't enough....Logan also had to climb every downed tree and big boulder we came across.

Along the carriage roads

Mia riding her "horse" along the carriage roads.  Logan informed us (after passing over a bridge) that he had made a friend named Carlos the troll.  He followed us for quite some time.  :)

Cadillac Mountain

Thunder Hold

Popovers at the Jordan Pond House... famous, but overrated.  They were yummy... but at 4 dollars a pop.... I can make my own puffy bread thing.

New England Aquarium

We heard wonderful things about the New England Aquarium in Boston, so we took a day trip down there.  The Aquarium really was amazing!  However, I think the Salt Lake Aquarium is just as amazing.  We are planning a return trip to do the whale watch on a sunnier day.

She had to go potty.  This is also was the entire Subway ride back to our parking garage looked like.  Complete with screams of "I have to go potty!"  For the whole twenty minute ride. :)

Lucky for us (and for my pregnancy craving), the aquarium was a quick walk away from Mike's Pastry Shop.  Mmmm, Chocolate Mousse Cannoli.

And Ry with his Neapolitan

Mia was so brave!

Camping on the Kancamagus Highway

The Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire is probably one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been to.  We were lucky to be able to camp here and soak it all in.  The kids did surprisingly well and slept the whole night through.  I, however, made the poor decision of sleeping on the edge of a slightly deflated mattress between the two snorers of the family.  It was totally worth it though.

Our campsite

Mia told me she would carry our backpack since I was carrying my baby.  Such a sweetie!

What I turned around and saw after taking pictures of Logan

That's my sweet little lady :)  Complete with a citronella bracelet around her neck.

All the toads were mating (which was super fun to explain to our 5 year old)... but it was cool to see all the eggs and tadpoles!
