Evalyn Rose

Evalyn Rose has arrived!
July 29, 2015
9:00am
 8lbs 12oz, 21.5 inches long

This beautiful little lady sure knew how to time her arrival into this world!  She was kind enough to wait until her brother and sister had both recovered from the stomach flu (barely), and her daddy was done with his shift. :)
Ry was working the 3pm-12am shift, and I should have known something was up by the way the kids had acted all day.  Mia (who has been potty trained forever) peed on my bed and my couch.  Logan was super clingy all day.  So, when I woke up at exactly midnight to my water breaking everywhere, I was only mildly surprised. :)  I grabbed my phone, called Ry at the hospital (who was just finishing up with a couple patients), and started cleaning up everything.  I was having irregular contractions, but my doctor wanted me to go in right away, and luckily we have a great friend here who came to sleep at our house with our naughty kids.  Ry got home, we threw our stuff in the car, and headed to Maine Med.
It was slightly awkward, since Ry knows everyone at the hospital.  We got cheers as we walked down the hallway.  At 2am.  With amniotic fluid leaking everywhere. :)  But, him knowing everyone came in very handy whenever I needed anything.  2 minute wait for an epidural?  I'll take it!  Long story short: Epidural at 3, pitocin at 5, dilated to a 6 by 8:45, and Evy entered the world at 9!  Ryley was able to deliver her, and it was a pretty wonderful experience.  I kind of wish I would have gotten pictures of him pulling her out, but I was a little busy at the time.
We are 10 days out now, adjust to life with 3 kids, and loving every second.  Logan and Mia are absolutely in love with Evy, and ask every 3 seconds to hold her.  They are amazing helpers.  Ry has been able to be home more after this birth than any of the others... it has made such a difference!  It is so nice to be able to sleep some, and rest.  Healing has happened so much faster!  We love this new little lady with all our hearts, and are so blessed to have our little Evalyn!

Legos on the hospital floor...I was grossed out.  Ry wasn't.
