The summer is very quickly coming to a close... so we are trying to squeeze everything out of it that we possibly can! Here is what we've been doing:
The day of my birthday I woke to find this:
I love my goofball of a husband. :) The day was absolutely wonderful, and I got spoiled rotten with presents, kisses, and my very own Godiva cheesecake.
Our garden also brought forth its very first tomatoes on my birthday. Hooray!
Our little Mia is a big walker now and has started to get into everything! Here is some of her artwork on my wall. Ignore her naked brother on the toilet in the background.
Logan got his very first trophy! It is now in a shrine in his bedroom, and he takes everyone who visits our house back to see it. :)
And Logan's biggest fan was at all his games cheering him on, of course! Soon, though, she will be able to live up to her namesake. :)
Love my big guy!
Pooh is one lucky bear to have such a proficient doctor as an owner.
At the zoo
Mia really, really loved this otter. She kept waving "hi" to it, and got very upset when I had to take her away.
Our little lady is quite the little monkey. We have taken to calling her "Mia mono". :) Every box she can find, she climbs.
I think he looks pretty sharp with a mustache.. how about you?
Mia also discovered how much she loves chocolate chip cookies!
Future wedding slideshow blackmail. :)
Mia's personality has really started to come out over the last two months. Notice the shoes. She loves her shoes. She has to be wearing them... even when she is naked. If they aren't actually on her feet, then she follows me around carrying them, yelling at me to put them on. :)
And she has learned how to blow bubbles. And tries to wash her own hair. Funny baby.
All of that goodness came from our little garden! We have gotten so many tomatoes, I don't know what to do with them all!
August 4, 2013
Ry and I have now officially been married for six years! He is in the middle of his Sub-I, so we didn't get to celebrate it one on one, but we did spend the day before reminiscing about our Provo days...
First we hit up the Provo Rec Center and played for a long time...
Then we went to one of our old favorite places to eat.. J Dawgs...
Austin Collie's BYU jersey is in the background
Then we had to hit up Creamery on Ninth for some ice cream. Much to my dismay, my old apartment was torn down, but I got over it pretty quick with the help of some Rocky Road.
Mia enjoyed her sorbet immensely. :)
And Logan played on the jungle gym that I tried to bounce him out on. Good times.
The day of our anniversary was full of chocolate and giggles...
And then Logan tried to fly of the coach and whacked his head on our footstool. Look closely and you can see the swelling in between his eyes.
The Camping Trip:
Last Friday we had the grand idea to go camping, since it was really the last day Ry would have off until October. So, we packed up our things, loaded the kids, and headed to the mountains. 4 hours later we realized that you can't just, "head to the mountains" in the city, because that is what every one else does. Finally we found a spot, just as it started to rain. It calmed down enough to set up camp and roast hot dogs and campfire cones. Then it was time for bed. Never, ever, ever, ever go camping with a naughty one year old. I was up every 20 minutes trying to keep her quiet, and at 7 that morning we threw everything back into the car and headed home to warm beds. After sleeping Saturday away we were finally able to laugh about our "relaxing" weekend. Well, almost. :)
And some random pictures of the last month:
Logan wrote my name! Such a smart 3 year old!
He is also getting very good at writing and reading his own name. It turns up on everything. And I mean everything.
Logan has been doing chores around the house and has been saving up his allowance. He gets a dollar a week, and puts 10% into his tithing jar, and however much he wants into his savings. The rest goes into his "fun money" penguin. He saw a bow and arrow, and wanted it really, really bad, so he designated his "fun money" as his "bow and arrow fund." It was $13, and last Monday he finally had enough. We were so proud of him, and he was so excited as he gave the cashier his $13 (mostly in dimes). He now sleeps with his bow and arrow next to his bed every night. I can't believe my little man is this big already!
Speaking of big, look at this lady! Where, oh where, has my baby gone?!
And some fun pictures... we love our Mia's crazy hair!
